I was always told that talking to myself was crazy.
Like really crazy.
But is that true?
And as you read this, it's likely you are asking that question. In your head. To yourself.
That's ok. I do it too.
It just so happens that the process of 'having a chat' with yourself is one of the most sane things you can do.
A healthy internal conversation allows you to bounce ideas around in a safe space.
In common vernacular, we 'take a mental note ', 'talk ourselves off the edge', 'give ourselves a pep talk ', and watch our 'self talk'.
I've often taken an hour on a Sunday morning to reflect, silently, on myself and my life. At about 11am each Sunday, a "Reflection time" event reminder pops up on my phone. And I stop to reflect on the week that has been and the week that is coming.
If it's close to a holiday, or an important 'memorial' date for me, I'll think about that too.
I can hear the voice in my head right now, as it matter of factly reviews a mental check list.
When I'm writing, it seems like the words are already there, and they ripen as I progress through a sentence. I don't necessarily think word to word, but the words flow through in a natural progression.
And it's interesting, because I don't feel like the voice is mine, and it feels like there is more than one personality involved in the conversation.
Whoever is participating in the conversation, one thing is for sure.
The conversation is enjoyable and enlivening, and I like the stuff that arises and emerges.
I'm interested if anyone has a different experience, or if this is a surprise for you.
Don't get me worg - I am happy my inner voice., and I want to expand and deeper my awareness and relationship with it.
However I am interested to hear how other people relate with their inner voice.
