So it happened on 4th August 2023 - I achieved a new milestone.
For the past two years, I have walked daily and completed a minimum of 10,000 steps each day. To be honest, walking has become a habit, and I don't notice the daily stroll, even though I walk on average about 9km/day.
It's the cumulative results I notice.
Worn out shoes for a start. I've been through multiple pairs of top end running shoes - they only last about 6 months before the tread wear through. An average pair of shoes travel about 1500kms per pair..
The health benefits are directly correlated to my consistent 10k + step counts.. For men my age, it is common to have 'a verandah around the back' and a paunch in the front. I have neither.
In April next year (2024), I will reach a milestone of 1000 days x 10,000 steps... I can just imagine what it will be like to reach a 10 year milestone... 10 years of 10k+ steps per day... Until then, I'll keep on walking...
