A year of walking (04/08/2022)

The irony of writing about activity as a first post for a "thinking" blog is not lost.  Nonetheless, the first post will be about activity. Walking, a capability that most humans possess, is an activity I have undertaken regularly for the past year, after committing to a minimum exercise level nearly one year ago. On August 4, 2021, I committed to walking a minimum of 10,000 steps each day. Every day, no matter what, I committed to taking a walk and in each 24 hour period, take at least 10,000 steps. It seemed deceptively simple. In a world where social media influencers propose gut busting workouts to get a killer body, and there is no gain without pain, I took what some would label the easy path. Just a walk, every day. I'll go into my history in a different post, but I can definitely confirm that this commitment to daily exercise has worked for me. I didn't expect or intend to get super fit, or create a super hero, weekend warrior persona.
